October 2017 Release: Funky Fall Foliage

Hello, friends!  Welcome to the October 2017 Release for the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop!  We have 5 fabulous  new sets to share this month and they cover a variety occasions, including sympathy and a celebration of the autumnal season starting here in the Northern Hemisphere!  I just know you will LOVE all the creations that my team and I have to share, as well!  Today's set is called...

Funky Fall Foliage

And here is my card set~

I used Photoshop to create a foliage background using images from the Funky Fall Foliage set before adding a sentiment to match the colors on top. This set was super quick and easy because I used my recoloring tool in Photoshop to get a variety of colors! I added faux stitching and glittery dots to the focal panels and backed them with a variety of digital papers. What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

August 2017 Release: Pet Puns

Pet Puns

And here is my card~

This fun image/sentiment pairing is from this fabulous *NEW* Pet Puns set! I printed the image out and then did some water coloring on the image. I added some metal embellishments and faux stitching for added shine and texture. The focal panel was matted with paper from the Twinkle Twinkle Little Stripes digital paper pack before adding it to the kraft card base. I think this turned out to be so fun! What do you think? Pretty Petunias + 2017 Sneak Peek!

Hello, friends, and happy last day of December!  As we leave 2016 behind, I just wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for supporting us here at MHKDesigns!  We've had an amazing year, and it's due in part to all of YOU!  I'm going to switch some things up for 2017, and thought I'd give you a SNEAK PEEK at what those changes will be!  Here's what you can look forward to in the upcoming year...

1. Challenges beginning on the 1st of the month.  That's right!  Our challenges are moving to the first of the month, and will run until the end of the month.  Our winners will still be announced on the 15th!
2. New releases.  Yep--I've got more new goodies coming your way!  Our release months will be February, April, June, August, and October in 2017.
3. A new look.  Did you notice?!  Our blog and Etsy shop have gotten a face lift of sorts!  It uses images from our Fanciful Feathers set and some bold colors.  We hope you like it as much as we do!
4. A fabulous design team.  Along with some of our previous members, we are welcoming some new faces to MHKDesigns.  These gals will be introduced tomorrow in our challenge post, so stay tuned!

Now that we have that all out of the way, let's get down to business!  I know here up north we are already into winter and just celebrated the Christmas season, but I decided to mix it up a bit and share a card using a fabulous floral image from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop!  My card today features an image from the *NEWLY RELEASED* Pretty Petunias digital stamp set! 

Here's my card to share today~

To create this fabulous bloom, I printed out the image from the Pretty Petunias set multiple times, colored each the exact same way with Spectrum Noir markers, then cut out portions of the flower and popped them up with dimensional foam on top of each other.  Some glitter was added for more sparkle and shine.

I decided to use paper from the Twinkle Twinkle Little Stripes digital paper pack on the outside AND inside--where I also added a sentiment from the Pretty Petunias set!  Isn't decorating the inside of cards fun?!  I don't do it nearly as much as I should...

Some black matting, bright ribbon, an a sunshine yellow doily half helped me keep this card funky and bright!  I am seriously loving the way this turned out, and I hope you enjoy it, too!  I cannot wait to hear your thoughts in the comments below! :)
