MHK Designer Inspiration - Rocky

Digi stamps don't have to be just for making cards, having made a batch of quince jelly this week I needed to label it. What could be better than home grown fruit made into home cooked jelly, in recycled jars with a hand crafted label.
I used a frame from Easter Blessings and turned it green, then I typed my own description in green and printed it out on 120gsm paper. Then I put double sided sticky sheet on the back and die cut them.
Before removing the die I used some pale green ink to colour the paper, once the die is removed you have a lovely white border.
All that remains now is to find where I've put the pretty holly fabric I bought a few months ago and I can put a nice cover on them before Christmas.
If you would like to know how to change the colour of a digi image then pop over to You Tube and watch our very own Mynn show you how in this video.

MHKDesigner Inspiration: Shawna

Hello All,

Today I am going to show you some inspiration for your MHKDesigns digital stamps. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The background was done using the shaving cream technique.
I actually did this background about two years ago and was looking for the perfect project to display it and then thought of using my MHKDesigns stamps! I think it turned out beautifully.

MHKDesigns vintage images work so well with each other.

I invite you to check out her Etsy store and see for yourself
the versatility of stamp sets and the variety of digital papers we have to offer

I decided to leave the the MHKDesigns image uncolored as to not compete with the background. In fact, I feel leaving it uncolored allows it to pop only adding to design's beauty.
I love the leaves overlapping the die cut sentiment.
It adds the perfect amount of detail.
Since you are here, I encourage you to browse our blog and see more inventive ideas from our design team. It is our hope that you can play along with our monthly challenge. If not, just enjoy a bit of eye candy.

There is a lot more to discover at MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! Stop on over and see what we have to offer. It is certain to spark the imagination. So, thank you for stopping by and hope to see you soon. Take care and happy crafting.

MHKDesigner Inspiration - Shawna

Hello Friends,

For today I have an inspiration card using your MHKDesigns digital stamps and papers. MHKDesigns makes it easy to create fantastic, elegant cards. Case in point, here is my card for today, enjoy!

This one card packed a punch.
I love all the visual texture of the flowers and chocolate stenciling!

This card seems to be an unconventional Easter card.
Yes, but I think it is a modern and elegant design.
The halos around the flowers was done using photo editing software
The white around the stenciling was (obviously) done by hand.
They have the same effect but using different mediums to create it.
Since you are here, I encourage you to browse our blog and see more inventive ideas from our design team. It is our hope that you can play along with our monthly challenge. If not, just enjoy a bit of eye candy.

MHK Designer Inspiration: Rocky

This month I would like to show you how easy it is to make dimensional acetate butterflies using MHK Designs Butterfly Wisdom.
On one A4 sheet of printable acetate I got nine large butterflies, you could get many more if better placed and smaller sizes. Two have been coloured with Alcohol markers which don't appear to react with the printer ink. They have been coloured on the rough, printed side of the acetate so that when turned over to the shiny side any possible marks are hidden.
One butterfly has been scored down either side of his body and had his wings bent upwards, this is then stuck on top of the other butterfly along the body only.
The image used is from Easter Blessings, coloured in with watercolour pencils, die cut and shaded with Distress Ink.           The image panel is mounted on a layer of paper from Christmas Past that has been colour adjusted with my photo package.
Finally the butterfly is stuck on to the image panel using red line tape which is perfect for acetate as it's very strong.
The card will lay flat inside the envelope making it easy for posting.
I hope this gives you inspiration to try another way of using MHK Designs images, there really is a lot you can do with them, happy crafting.

MHK Designer Inspiration : SathyaSankaran

Hi Crafty Peeps,

This is Sathya with today's DT inspiration using 3 different digi stampsets.

The wild rose floral image from Easter blessings and Sentiment is from Birds and branches set are printed on to drawing cardstock (250 gsm). Then i colored them using Faber-castell bicolor pencils.

The butterflies (oh yeah, my all time fave) are from Butterfly wisdom set is printed, colored and fussy cut and mounted using foam adhesives.

Peach colored satin ribbon are added near sentiment with few peach pearls added as accents.

Simple coloring, minimal embellies ...matted the card panel on to black cardstock and then on the peach A2 cardbase to finish off the card.

Hope you like it!

More inspirations are there to follow from my Team members, so stay tuned and Dont forget to grab your favorite digi stampsets and Designer papers from MHK etsy shop. Do participate in the ongoing MHK challenge and stand for a chance to win these digis.

Happy Easter from MHKDesigns!

Hi, friends!  It's Mynn here to wish everyone a very Happy Easter!  I'm also excited to announce that we have a *NEW* junior designer on the team--Claire Hills!  Claire is my youngest sister, and is 13 years old.  She and I have been doing crafts together for years, and now I'm going to help her start blogging her creations. :)  She's got 2 cards to share with you made with products from the MHKDesigns Etsy shop especially for today's holiday.  Take a peek at the first one...

Claire used the He Is Risen digital stamp set and Very Distressing digital paper pack for this card.  She colored the image in with water based ink markers, then added the sentiment over the main panel with vellum.  Some black rhinestones were added for a bit more finish.

Her next card features an image and sentiment from the Easter Blessings digital stamp set.  She went with an easel card (her first!) for this card, and kept it mostly purple--our favorite color. ;)  Check it out...

She used some paper from the Easter Flowers digital paper pack to accent her base, then added some punched pieces, ribbon, and glossy dots for accents.  The sentiment was once again printed on vellum before adding it to the inside of the card to act as a stopper for the easel.  I love her burgundy, purple, and gray color scheme!

I just adore these two cards, and I hope you do, too!  Please leave a comment below to let Claire and I know what you think--I just know she'll appreciate your feedback! :)

Thank you so much for stopping by today, friends!  I hope you have a wonderful Easter filled with love and joy in our Savior.

We will have more DT creations for you coming soon AND a release in April, so stay tuned!  Until later, HUGS and happy stamping to you all, friends!
