MHK Designer Inspiration - Rocky

A Paper Is Not Just For Christmas
MHK Designs have some gorgeous paper sets, this one is a firm favourite of mine.
Although it's a set full of designs suitable for Christmas, with  just a few colour changes you can use it any time of year.
This set has stars, stripes and great patterns. The only thing that makes it Christmas is the colour palette, so change it and you've got a whole host of lovely papers to craft with.
If you don't know how to change the colours of your digi's then please pop over to You-Tube and watch our very own Mynn as she takes you through several ways to get much more from your digital designs.
When you have a few minutes play around with your printer settings to see what you can come up with, you'll be surprised what you can do by just moving the sliders around on your colours. If all else fails then print in black and white and add colour with ink pads.

Christmas Past

Have a very Happy Holiday Season, see you in the New Year....

MHKDesigner Inspiration: Shawna

Hello Everyone,

Today I am going to show you some inspiration for your MHKDesigns digital stamps. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

The magic of layer made this card possible. I took my MHKDesigns Christmas Silhouettes stamp set and copied the image into another layer. I then made it white and offset it to have the white show through.

The digi papers are very good for making boxes, with so many to choose from it could be for any occasion. As it's fast approaching the festive season I have made a small gift box, a perfect size for gifting a few handmade treats.
I printed the paper from Christmas Past on to thin card and then die cut the box, it measures 2.5 x 2.5 x 3 inches so it's a rather useful size.
With just a little double sided tape the box is complete, it has a slot fastening star on top to go with the star paper. All that was needed to finish off was a tag which has a sentiment from Candy Canes and Crackers printed on it, a bit of red edging with ink to make it pop and a big foam pad behind it.
I do hope you enjoy using MHK Designs images and papers for your projects, don't forget to join our challenge to show us what you've made.

Good morning everyone!
Today is my day to share some inspiration!

With the holidays quickly approaching
I decided to make a set of holiday cards.

I used "Deck the Halls" for the tree image
and the sentiment is from "Santa's Sleigh".

I colored the image with metallic pencils, gel pens and stickles.
The sentiment was cut with a label die.

Check out these sets and all the others available at
and get started on your holiday cards today!

MHKDesigner Inspiration: Shawna

Hello Everyone,

I'm a bit behind due to an illness that caused me to sleep for forty-eight hours straight, but all is well and I'm ready to show you some inspiration using your MHKDesigns digital stamps. Here is my card for today, enjoy!

Any nautical image on a card, for me, invokes a personal journey.
This card would be a perfect card for any occasion.
The soothing blues and muted grays are such a pretty combination.

Embossing the base card really adds a lot of movement and texture.
I also used the emboss resist technique using my new star stamp and Oxide Inks.
The black words and border visually make these elements the center of attention, allowing the anchor to be in the background of the card. Such a large and dominant image needed a balance and I thought these black elements were a perfect addition.
Since you are here, I encourage you to browse our blog and see more inventive ideas from our design team. It is our hope that you can play along with our monthly challenge. If not, just enjoy a bit of eye candy.

MHK Designer Inspiration - Rocky

Digi stamps don't have to be just for making cards, having made a batch of quince jelly this week I needed to label it. What could be better than home grown fruit made into home cooked jelly, in recycled jars with a hand crafted label.
I used a frame from Easter Blessings and turned it green, then I typed my own description in green and printed it out on 120gsm paper. Then I put double sided sticky sheet on the back and die cut them.
Before removing the die I used some pale green ink to colour the paper, once the die is removed you have a lovely white border.
All that remains now is to find where I've put the pretty holly fabric I bought a few months ago and I can put a nice cover on them before Christmas.
If you would like to know how to change the colour of a digi image then pop over to You Tube and watch our very own Mynn show you how in this video.

Easter Blessings

MHKDesigner Inspiration: Judy

Hey there!
It's Judy here
sharing a little inspiration today.

I love the set
and thought some of the images n the set
would work great for a set of
easel desk calendar/sticky note holders.

These easel style projects are easy and quick to construct.
Each one takes an 8.5 x 11 inch piece of yardstick
and a couple pieces of coordinating DP.
I printed the images and die cut.
You adhere a mini calendar and 3x3 inch note pad.

I hope I've inspired you just a little
and that you'll check out all the
fabulous products MHKDesigns has to offer!

Until next time
Happy Crafting!
