MHK Designer Inspiration: Rocky

Light of the World will be the next new set released by MHK Designs this month, so I thought I'd show you something you could make with it.
Using the plain lamp from this set I made a circle of them with my photo package, printed them and then cut them out. They have been coloured with alcohol markers and stretched with a ball tool to resemble petals on a flower.
Using a background from Damsel In Distress with foliage helps make this look even more flower like, along with layering two lamp circles on foam pads. The centre was die cut and coloured before removing the die to get a white, even border, this is also mounted on foam pads.
The lamp butterfly is two large lamps and two small, all lamp bases are overlapped to get the body. With the addition of a flower stamen for antennae the butterfly, once coloured and trimmed, is complete, there are foam pads under its wings.

June Release: Sit a Bit

Hello, friends!  Welcome to the June 2017 Release for the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop!  I have 5 fabulous  new sets to share this month and they cover MANY occasions!  I just know you will LOVE all the creations that my team and I have to share, as well!  Today's set is called...

And here is my card~

I went back to Photoshop for this focal panel and went with a feminine color combo. I made the image a medium gray so that the black sentiment would really POP! I added a few silver embellishments and then added my focal panel to the card base. I used paper from the Damsel in Distress paper pack for more texture and an extra bit of vintage vibe. I love the way this card turned out! What do you think?! I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! :)

And now, let's talk about how to get this new set OR the entire release for FREE!  Here's what you'll need to do...

MHKDesigner Inspiration -- Julie

Hello, my crafty friends!  It's Julie with you today, and I'm so pleased to be here!

Are you enjoying this month's New Releases?  Aren't they wonderful?!?  I've been having so much fun with them!  Today, I'm sharing a new release that you'll see more of in a couple of days.  The new release is called Lovely Ladies. There are 3 equally Lovely Ladies in the digital set, and 4 great sentiments.

I adore shaped cards, and make them often.  Here's a shape I haven't made before, but I thought it framed this Lovely Lady well:

She didn't seem to need any coloring to me at all.  I printed her on colored card stock, then cut her out with an oval die.  Papers for this card are from MHKDesigns Damsel in Distress digital paper pack.  The sentiment is part of the Lovely Ladies set

You still have lots of time to enter -- it goes until the end of the month.  Come join the fun!  I'd love to see what you make!  Check out the MHKDesigner and Friends Facebook group, too. There's lots of great inspiration there!

MHKDesigner Inspiration: Mynn Kitchen

Happy Monday, all!  It's my day to post on the MHKDesigns blog using products from the MHKDesigns Etsy shop.  I chose to make a "thinking of you" or sympathy card.  Take a peek...

The sentiment, from the Perfect Poppies set, was printed onto vellum and then added to a panel prepped with paper from the Damsel in Distress pack.  I added some cardstock as a border, then layered on glittery punched and enamel hearts.

I added my focal panel to a card base prepped with glittery purple paper, to match the hearts, and a half doily topped with ribbon.  I think this turned out pretty well--and I think it will be able to be mailed at a moment's notice, too!  What do you think?  I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, friends!  That's all I have for you today, but I will be back later this month with inspiration for our next challenge.  Until then, I hope you join in the fun of our CURRENT CHALLENGE, and take a trip to the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop to grab these goodies!  HUGS and happy {digital} stamping, friends! :)

MHK Designer Inspiration - Rocky

Today I have a project for you using one of our gorgeous digi paper sets called Damsel In Distress.
This set comes in a rather stunning pink but with a little help from my printer functions I have changed the colour to a very nice mauve.
The origami box was made following a brilliant video by Christina Griffiths, here's the link, Christina's tutorial is very easy to follow.
It was printed with a different pattern on each side of an A4 120gsm paper. One A4 sheet will make this box bottom and decorate the lid, you will need an A5 of co-ordinating card for the lid base.
With the addition of some paper lace on the edges, some paper roses and a small length of ribbon for the lid the materials list is quite short.
From an A4 sheet you can make a finished box that measures 3 1/2 inches square and 2 1/2 inches tall including roses.
Just imagine making wedding favour boxes this way, if the Etsy shop doesn't have what you're looking for then contact MHK Designs about the possibility of a bespoke set.
Digi papers are so versatile, you can change colour and size by adjusting your printer and being able to print double sided papers is a real bonus.

Come and join in our challenge for the chance to win some digi papers and stamps.  You don't have to use MHK Designs products to enter but we would love it if you did.
