MHK Designer Inspiration - Rocky

This month my MHK Designer Inspiration is another flat card, making it a standard postal charge in the UK, this month's release set is Blessed Lily so that's the image I have used.
Using my photo package I have made a splodgey green background, then overlaid the image in white, along with the sentiment and a butterfly from Butterfly Wisdom.
I added a little yellow around the stamens before adding another layered image, this time in a dark grey and slightly off the original to give a ghosting effect.
Our very own Mynn has several YouTube videos you can watch to learn how to manipulate the images, this opens up many possibilities for your digital images.

Don't forget if you come and join in with our challenge you could win some of these gorgeous images, you don't have to use an MHK Designs image to enter either.

MHKDesigner Inspiration: Tasha

Hi everyone, Tasha here with my first designer project for MHKDesigns digital stamps and papers. For my project, I created a card using the lovely Butterfly Wisdom digital stamp set.

I selected two of the butterflies included in the set and colored them with markers. I layered clear glitter over the wings to give a shimmery rainbow look; love the sparkle!
To add a little color on the base paper, I made little dots in coordinating marker colors. I like that the background has some color, but the pattern is not too busy.

The sentiment used was "Change Is A Beautiful Process" printed in a berry font color. I added one of the butterflies to the sentiment to look as if it's resting on the letter. I love this quote and think it's a perfect card for so many occasions.

To complete the design, I used a metallic shimmer layer and a beautiful flower pattern paper base. This card is so pretty and I cannot wait to gift it to someone special!

MHKD Designer Inspiration : SathyaSankaran

Hi Friends!!

This is Sathya, and this is my last DT inspiration at MHKDesigns. I had a great year working with the Awesome digisets and Wonderful DT team. Thanks much for this opportunity, Mynn. I learnt a lot from my fellow DTs and this team.

I was asked to share my fave project. As i couldn't pull out just one project out of all my MHKD DT inspirations, i made a collage using my fave digisets.

I absolutely enjoyed working with these Digi sets.

Each card here is SO close to my heart.

Open Bloom, Butterfly Wisdom, Butterfly Elements, Blossoming are my favorites among the digisets of this year.

If you wish to know how each card is made, click on my name in the label section, to know more about the card.

Thanks much for all your likes, comments, and Support on FB, blog and Instagram.

Thanks SO much for stopping by!

Designer Inspiration - Rocky

I would like to share with you just two of my favourite projects from 2016.

Using Open Bloom & Butterfly Wisdom
This one makes use of printing on acetate as well as card and using just part of an image. MHK Designs digi stamps are so versatile, you can do almost anything with them, like decorating candles.

Using Fruit Borders
I hope you have enjoyed all our inspirational projects this year and we look forward to seeing you again next year with some more great images, Happy Crafting.

MHKD Designer Inspiration : SathyaSankaran

Hi Crafty Friends!

This is Sathya here today for this month's Designer Inspiration, using Butterfly Wisdom Digi stampset.

Its one of my most Favorite set among all MHKD digi images. And i love to find ways to use this beautiful set.

Took a watercolor paper, tored the central portion and rolled those edges. Then using Gelatos in the colors of blue, purple colored the card using water to reduce the darker tones.

Butterflies from Butterfly wisdom are printed, colored using Faber castell bicolor pencils in the shades of blue, purple. Those are fussy cut and mounted using foam adhesives on the focal panel.

The sentiment is printed and and centrally placed under the torn central portion of the focal panel.
Few baby blue pearls are added randomly to highlight the focal panel.

This panel is then mounted onto the base cs, which is a baby blue A2 prescored cardbase using foam adhesives.

Hope you like this simple card!

MHKDesigner Inspiration - Jessica

Hello friends!

It's Jess here today to share my Monthly Inspiration for you for MHKDesigns!

I made this step up card featuring the Going Gingham Pastels Digital Paper! I printed off the sunflowers from a set called "Blossoming". The butterflies came from 2 different sets - Beginnings & Endings and Butterfly Wisdom. The sentiment came from "Eat Your Cake".  I just love being able to pull elements together from multiple sets to make a card!

Until next time,

MHK Designer Inspiration - Rocky

Hello and welcome to my inspirational project for August. I have chosen to use the Butterfly Wisdom stamp set again because there are so many things you can do with it and who doesn't like butterflies.
This is just a simple card that makes a great everyday greeting,  you can jazz it up to be a birthday card or a get well message.
I have printed the main image panel from the set at 70% opacity so it comes out a little bit lighter than the usual black. Using an alcohol marker I have coloured the background but not the butterflies.
The acetate butterfly is printed at full strength black on to medium weight printable acetate and also coloured with alcohol markers. It is a little smaller than the one on the card but it doesn't seem to show  much because he's got his wings bent up in flight.
The image panel has a narrow dark green mat layer on to a white card blank, very simple and relatively quick to make too.

Don't forget to come and join us in our challenge, you don't have to use an MHK Designs image to enter but we would love it if you did.

MHKDesigner Inspiration: Judy

Hello all!

It's Judy here
sharing my Inspiration Project for August!

I have a lot of time on my hands lately
so I've been experimenting with some new, to me, types of paper crafts.

This is a mixed media canvas I created using the

I used quite a variety of items and mediums on this 7x14" canvas.
The 3 butterflies and sentiment were colored with pencils & fussy cut.
The canvas was painted, first, with 3 different glimmer mists.
I added texture with a stencil & texture paste.
I added wooded elements which were painted with metallic acrylic paint.
I framed the sentiment with a die cut,
which I also painted to match the wood pieces.
There are a few metal pieces at the top.
I added paper flowers and finished up m with some pearls.

Here are some close ups

I will definitely be doing more pieces like this!

I hope I have inspired you to try something new & to
check out all the sets available at the

MHKDesigner Inspiration: Mynn

Hi, everyone!  Happy August!  I decided to share a card I made for the current challenge at House of Cards, and I've used some fun products from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop to make it!  I'm actually giving you a SNEAK PEEK at a few products that I have coming later this month to the store. ;)  The challenge this month at House of Cards is to add baker's twine and/or use this color inspiration...

I chose to add baker's twine!  I did use some of the colors from the inspiration in my creation, but the focus was more on the twine for me.  Take a peek at my card...

I used papers from the Twinkle Twinkle Little Dots (coming soon!) and French Country paper packs.  The sentiment is from the Beautiful Bottles set (also soon to be released!), and the image is from the Butterfly Wisdom set.  Some rhinestones were added to tie in more of the pink from the twine, as well as a fun floral button.

A bit of faux stitching added a little more texture to the focal panel, and I decided to mat everything in white and add them to a kraft card base.  I think that these very different patterns really worked out well together!  What do you think?  I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today, friends!  I hope you take a bit of time to come and play along at House of Cards.  If you use products from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop, make sure to link it up with our current challenge here, as well!  I'll be back later this month with the August release--there are some super fun sets going into the store this month!  Until then, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)
